Hello, and welcome to our website.
We are your humble hosts, Mark & Alison Carter. We have been on the Isle of Skye now for a number of years and started our catering career running a food takeaway business in the village of Broadford.
This was very successful, and we gained a fabulous reputation for serving good quality, locally sourced food. Our ethos has always been to use as much locally sourced product as possible, and this will now continue in our new venture here at Amy's Place.
So, who and what is Amy's Place… Well, we are a small tea room based in Torrin, which is just 6 miles from Broadford, on the Elgol Road. It is named Amy's Place in memory of our daughter who passed away in December 2018, aged just 23. Amy passed through complications of Lupus. This is why the butterfly theme, and the colour purple is evident, as this is the colour and emblem of Lupus.
We serve homemade baking including a great selection of tasty treats, all made by Alison's fair hands.
Our tea range is quite vast and comes from a range of suppliers which will continue to grow.
You will probably have the best of views from any cafe anywhere (#brewwithaview) and we encourage you to come in, sit back, relax, and enjoy. The people of Skye welcome you and ask that you take more time when visiting so you can stay longer and experience more.
So whilst you are enjoying a nice beverage why not spend a little time and look at the local crafts and gifts which we have on sale. They make great presents for you to take away and we also have a deli section as well, which has lots of options for you to peruse.
Thank you very much for reading, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Best Regards,
Mark & Alison
