Amy, our daughter, was a remarkable young woman who faced the challenges of Lupus and epilepsy from the age of 14.
Tragically, Amy passed away suddenly in December 2018 at just 23 years old. To honour her memory, we’ve taken over what was formerly The Blue Shed Café and renamed it Amy’s Place.
In tribute to Amy, we’ve painted the building purple and incorporated the Lupus butterfly logo into our signs and décor. Inside, you’ll also find butterfly-themed elements as a heartfelt reminder of her enduring presence.
We proudly support Lupus UK with a collection tin in Amy’s name, helping raise awareness and funds for this important cause.
We founded our cake shop in 2019, just before the challenges of the COVID pandemic began. It’s been a tough journey, but we’ve worked hard to keep our dream alive.
Today, we’re delighted to still be here, thriving on the beautiful Isle of Skye. We hope you’ll visit our award-winning cake shop and experience everything it has to offer.
Your hosts, Mark and Alison Carter, are a husband-and-wife team dedicated to creating a calm, welcoming atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy homemade cake or soup. Indoors, we have seating for 14 guests, while outdoors, there’s plenty of space to take in the breathtaking views of Loch Slapin and Bla Bheinn - weather permitting, of course!
While you’re here, don’t forget to explore our collection of local crafts and unique gifts available in-store.
